I disagree with this position. Scholars need to speak up against injustice. They need to account unjust rulers, not by force but at least by clearly speaking up. This unclear principle of "advising in private" has a limit, if the rulers don't pay heed to the advice, then the scholars can't keep on being silent.

Allah'a vuslatın yegâne yolu, O'ndan gayrıya meyli kesmek, sadece Hakk'a müteveccih olmak ve bu yolda sıdk ile yürümek, sâbit-kadem olmakdır. The shaykh is right. However there are physically indicated causes for illness. Without knowing the exact symptoms of the questioner the shaykh can only give general advise as he did. If the ill person suffers from.alcohol or drug abuse then vitamin B3 in the form of niacin may help bi idhn Allah.
